HRA Pharma will host its first hackathon to create new solutions supporting women in their contraception journey: from getting informed, to choosing the right fit for them, finding ways of monitoring their contraception…
Let your creativity loose: wearables, mobile apps, serious games... Pick your tools to come up with the best innovation in the field! Ready?
Oh, and have no fear, no in-depth knowledge of contraception is required for this challenge. We'll have plenty of workshops to give you the basics!
The hackathon is victim on its own success and is currently sold out. You can still register to the waiting list.
You will create solutions for women such as Lola, Georgia and Sandra, but also for pharma experts like Sophie. Learn more about them and their needs:
Pill experience and compliance
Lola is on the pill, and it works for her. Yet sometimes she forgets to take it — so she’d like to get better at remembering to take the pill at the right time each day, and know what she should do after missing a pill.
She doesn’t want to take hormones, so the pill, IUD and implants are not an option. She doesn’t want to get pregnant yet. She would like to know when she’s at risk of pregnancy (and when she's not) in a snap of a finger!
Contraception education and guidance
She's at the start of her sex life. She doesn’t know what the best contraception for her is. She finds it quite complicated as there are so many options! She would like to get some advice but it's not a topic she wants to discuss with her mum or a doctor.
The experience in the pharmacy
Sophie wants to avoid getting involved in a long conversation at the pharmacy about embarrassing topics such as contraception.
Yet pharmacies are very convenient “health centers”, with flexible timings. It would be fantastic to have good contraception advice and discreet contraceptive provision without having to interact with the pharmacist.
